Nice way of putting it D_B! I always was annoyed by the fact that the Christian religion captured all local traditions and celebrations and blended it in with a thick holy sauce on it. I celebrate winter Solstice with a decorated fir to remember that the world will turn green again soon, and with some good meals with family to celebrate that we survived half of the dark winter time already!
And I will also go to church Sunday evening with the misses, since she likes me to do so

So, indeed, have a good time all, celebrating solstice!!!

- Almost tastes like my in-laws serve it.
- I brought my own food, I'm a vegan now.
- Grandma, you've grown fat!
- Is that all the gravy there is?
- It is annoying and exhausting how everyone here is pretending everything was alright and later trying to drown their frustration in alcohol.
- I already had dinner.
- Let's talk politics.
- I have to leave in half an hour, would you please hurry up serving dinner?
- I'm only here because of the food. I could do without you lot.
- I'd really fancy a pizza now.
