is John's region really so far South that you can't scroll down to get a better overview? Judging from your screenshots, that is.

Yeah. But there still is quite a lot of mist in all area's. Well, Faith's region seems the most thoroughly explored. Was that your first?
My first is Jacobs. I think I cleared all terrain and did most of the side quests in the area. However, I did not find all collectibles. Like them bobbleheads, baseball statues and vinyl boxes.

I'm a bit disappointed on the amount of weapons available in the game. I remember you had great and powerful weapons in FC4, yet I don't see any of them in FC5. Some weapons are still locked, but the locked weapons don't seem to be very special...
My current loadout holds the Resistance sniper rifle (suppressed), the Resistance AK47, a rocket launcher and a suppressed Uzi. I don't feel like changing anything. I would like to have a powerful handgun, but that golden 'special' gun doesn't ad anything to the usual 1911. And the magnum-type guns are still locked. That might be something interesting...
I bought the perk to have these sticky remote explosives (and the other explosives) available. But they are damn expensive. 1000 each. I don't think I will be experimenting much with these.

If you collect enough resources (easy to do if you loot things), then it is easy to craft the remote explosives.  O0

I like to use the AR-CL sniper in full auto with a tactical scope as my assault weapon because it uses rifle ammo, the SA-50 with long range scope as my sniper, a 1911 with suppressor as the close quarters weapon, and the Carl-G with tracking scope for taking down flying enemy.

I did John Seed's area as my first to open, but then went to Faith's and Jacob's regions just for fun.

The only complaint I have is that even if you find a weapon in the wilderness, it remains locked in the store so you cannot upgrade it. When the game first came out, you instantly had it in your inventory and could do what you wanted. Co-op friends could give you their weapons if they liked. However, UBI*bleep* in their infinite wisdom did a patch to prevent you from collecting weapons in an open world way. They could not stand it that you were not playing the game their way and ensured that you are funneled down their path.

Interestingly, they still cannot fix what really needs to be repaired - the night time glitch. The real game breaker is not what is on the top of their list - what they prioritize is the need to prevent people from doing the open world thing.

oh UBI*bleep*, what have you done.. again! :banghead:

I also liked the AR-CL in the beginning PZ! I had it with the strongest scope available which makes it almost like a real sniper. With a suppressor and extended clip it was the best thing in medium range.
I used it due to the lack of better sniper rifles available in the beginning. But as soon as I got one, I tossed the AR-CL away. Mainly because it won't be effective and powerful at longer range and it isn't as reactive and powerful as a normal assault rifle. On my assault rifles I only put the red-dot sight. I don't like the scopes with magnification because they block so much of my sight.  :)

I am surprised about the difference between weapon behaviour after purchasing that handling perk. I had lots of difficulties hitting enemies that were farther than just 25 meters away, my bullets with spray to all sides. As soon as I got the perk, they were knife sharp. In my opinion they shouldn't have made the difference so obvious.

I cleared out Faith's region first. Yeah, got some  unexplored areas to visit in the other regions.
The lack of weapons might be due to how you can add attachments to everything now. Previous FC games forced you to not use the inferior weapons in the endgame. A bigger pool of weapons would be nice. Or, a reduced weapon pool due to business decisions (DLC) ::)  The handling perk reduce idle sway. I haven't had any issues, with that. Although I have been playing games with that mechanic so I am used to it. You do know that you can select fire mode to semi/burst/full-auto? Should make you more accurate ;) Weapons are no longer hit scan, so aim ahead if your target moves in another direction.

PZ, GTA got that logic as well, you need to do missions to unlock stuff permanently ::) Even in GTA Online, any higher level weapon you pick up, will be removed from your weapon wheel, unless you have the required rank :banghead: Probably some design choices to keep you playing. Seeing how everything is tied to the not-so-perfectly-done Resistance mechanic in Far Cry 5, they could just reward you money instead for hitting the higher levels of resistance. The developer team is looking into new game+, just like Origins. I think the process goes like this: Some have started on the DLCs, another team is fixing the Arcade and the core team pre-producing Far Cry 6. The others? Transferred to other UBI*bleep**bleep* projects I guess.

I wish they would have had the Origins development team do FC5, but if they employ the Game+ mode, I'll be happier. However, FC5 only has a single game slot whereas they increased the number from 3 to 5 game saves in Origins. I still do not know why they think it best to not have more than a single game save.

I still think it stupid to have a restriction on what you find and can keep, and don't care what their logic is in doing so. After all, the resistance point "feature" and the resultant forced game progression, forced timed events, and other annoyances defeat the purpose of the developers keeping the gamers playing.

I've never met an open world gamer that thinks it is better to have decreased options in a game, increasingly turning it more linear.

LowPolyOWG

If I want a linear game, I'd rather play a linear game. ;)

With the new patch allowing for gender changes all the time, I decided to make a cowgirl
