Yeah. Today, it's harder to pitch single-player experiences these days due to the lack of opportunity to monetize them. R* singleplayer games have an amazing quality to them. Shame that greed have gotten into them. CDPR are great devs, making quality experiences. :)

Yes, it is sad to see this happening. I wonder what this will mean for a possible PC release. I have a hunch it might mean that they won't even bother, and rush on to the next monetizable game. So sad...

I am very much anticipating RDR2, but I always had my doubts about the online version. There's not so much you can potentially buy or want in this type of game. No cars, no fancy clothes... you may be able to buy a saloon or something, but no high end apartments. I thought that likely most dough was to be made by weapons, upgrades, maybe a staples to breed cool horses...
I think they bet on the wrong horse this time :gnehe:

But I still hope for a PC version! :angry-new:

Even if the online part of the game is a failure, the single player game is worth the price. One may or may not replay the game, but I can say it was a fun game, and kept me riveted as long as I was playing.

GTA V SP on PC was better than the console experience to be fair. 60+ fps GTA V

They wanted to make a lazy mobile cash grab online portion. That's it. But yes, on the design paper, not much you can do in a late 1890 setting. :)

Given the premise and setting of the game, I don't see how they could have made it another GTA V online in terms of replay value.

Horses aren't terribly customizable, and flying was something that only birds and bugs did :gnehe:

or people in saloons, when leaving through the window..

Replace "replay" with revenue or what Ubishit called it, recurrent user spending and Take Everything's "recurrent spending hooks".  ;)

They can call it whatever they like, it's still a hard sell by any other name.

LowPolyOWG

Oh yeah, definitely. Anyway, haven't heard a lot of PC related leaks, other than R* drip feeding minor updates/content for their so-called online "beta".

you guys have fun with that game, then :)

Back then when everyone was talking about RDR2, I had to learn about what that game actually was about. I didn't know anything except "horses.. cowboys.. Wild West.. shootings." So as always I checked YouTube and watched videos from several sources and ended up watching an entire playthrough. Just like back then with GTAV. The only difference: I was bored by the story-telling and game design. I had never felt even the slightest desire to play RDR2 myself.

Just not my cup of tea.

I played RDR2 on the console when it came out and it was a fun game for me. I did complete it, but did not have a desire to play through again. The graphics were spectacular even on the console, and most of the time it  the cut scenes looked like game play minus the HUD. If graphics are your thing, then RDR2 might be for you

nex

I've watched about three hours of game play vids and there's not much action going on.
I think the side missions outweigh the main missions, whatever that is.
I also get the idea it's not completely openworld, the missions I've been watching looks too linear
compared to other openworld games I've been playing.
Shooting or killing bad guys is one thing, being a criminal who kills for personal gain is
something else and would take time to get used to, even if it's a game. (just my personal perspective)
So at this stage I don't know if I'll get the game.

I love to be a bad guy in a game. In real life, I'm always the good guy. The guy who shows patience and understanding. But when I fire up my machine, a mean little bugger awakens in me, wanting to slash, cut, penetrate and kill :evil2:
