Valentine's Day dinner

Because I've lots of time on my hands these days, I fixed my sweetie a nice dinner.

[spoiler text=Images]She was completely surprised because I have never done this - ever. This was the appetizer - a single jumbo shrimp sauteed in butter, lemon juice, zest, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. The two scallops were pan seared in butter to develop the caramelization.

The steak was a ribeye from the same batch that I made the burgers from.  Because the steak was so big, I cut it in half the long way and we each shared a half. The mushroom sauce was outstanding - butter, white wine, onions, garlic, salt and pepper. The twice baked potatoes were also excellent, as was the lightly steamed asparagus.

The final dinner table - my sweetie found it quite romantic that I did this. The wine was a Turley 2012 Zinfandel - most excellent.
