Welp, my MG42 is starved of ammo ::) How 200 rounds can fit in a 10-round belt can only be described as Ubisoft logic

Yep  :) Walking with 10 000 rounds of MG ammunition is definitely worth it :laughsm:

As usual, Far Cry protagonists never understands the concept of using a suppressed weapon  :laughsm:

like a suppressed grenade launcher? :gnehe:

Well, this incident was caused by armour piercing .50 cal, an unlucky tanker filled with ethanol and the escort vehicle. And some others on an ATV. :evil2:

:laughsm:  I did somewhat the same thing in a FC2 mod - my AR16 carried a 450 round magazine, and the 6P9 held something like 60 rounds per magazine.

Still, weapon mags in FC2 were loaded with air  Most games back then rarely modelled bullets in their mag. They were either 2D images/textures for bullets, solid magazines or just modelled empty. In this case, the belt model for the MG42 doesn't reflect the amount of bullets in the ammo counter ;) Unless you go below 10.

Got back into this, after a short break. I had just upgraded my weapons shop to be able to craft armor piercing bullets and wanted to go after the chop shop (formerly Fall's End) outpost, which I had already scavenged twice so it's occupants were now at the top level. I had already once tried to take them out but literally ran out of ammo in all my guns shooting at those bullet sponges. That didn't end well for me.

So after upgrading and making a bunch of armor piercing ammo, I found that even though at that level you can make the ammo, you can't actually use it until you upgrade to the next level weapons shop to build the guns that can use the ammo. I didn't have enough materials to upgrade, so I went after them with normal ammo and a companion in tow who was only marginally helpful.

The first round of fighting went OK though, the main problem being the guy manning the mortar. Of course, there were a few rounds of reinforcements too, and a couple elite soldiers who have an enormous amount of health. Luckily a few times some civilians would wander in and join the fight and give me a break to heal up.

Then an ammo dealer wandered by and I was able to fill up on ammo as I was running low again. A few more time circling the camp let me take out the few remaining lower level guards and only had the one elite soldier left. I took a chance to sneak up on the roof where the mortar was and took one shot to take out the last elite just by luck mostly.

After raiding the outpost I now had enough materials to upgrade my weapons shop to make guns that can use armor piercing bullets, at least now it's like shooting actual bullets and not spitballs like before.
