So, Microsoft's new console is Xbox Series X

Guess they went out of numbers to use (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One X). Internet are making jokes of its design, comparing it to a fridge. Same thing happened with the new Mac Pro from Apple, it was compared to a cheese grater

With this Xbox, Microsoft promises fast NVme storage, 12 TFLOP of GPU power, a 4 times increase in CPU power (thank you AMD), 8K resolution, 120 frames per second (doubt that will be for 8K, but maybe lower resloutions like 1080p/1440p) and fast game loading times.

Speaking of the Series X, Microsoft decided to post this news article yesterday. Ray tracing in a console, fast loading times and technology not available on AMD PC hardware

Also, buy the original Xbox One version of a game and get a free next-gen copy of the same title, if developers opt-in for that. CDPR announced CP2077 will support this, if you chose to upgrade your Xbox One to a Xbox SX model. However, CDPR could release a next-gen only physical copy.

Back in the transitional era between PS3/X360 to current gen machines, most publishers allowed you to upgrade to a current-gen copy in a limited time frame, if you had a digital last-gen copy.

Prices have been announced along with the S model. Microsoft also announced a monthly pay solution, the All Access program. Basically, pay a monthly fee of $25 for your console, but free access to online services and game pass. Seems to be limited to the U.S as of now.

Anyway, decided to order an Xbox ~~Fridge~~ Series X as a birthday/christmas present for myself lol. Sadly, not going to get it by release, but expected on the 8th December. I will not stop playing on PC, I just think the next gen machines offer great value when it comes to specs. Also, there are some console exclusive games I want to play
