Would it be possible to swap to a new (as in new to you) motherboard that has the security module and uses your CPU?

That's actually a reasonable idea  That way I can keep some of my reasonable old parts like the SSD, and upgrade a few other things such as the graphics card. I really did not want to trash the old computer entirely when it works just fine for almost everything I do (except gaming)

Yeah a mother board and CPU upgrade are the easiest ways to go about it. That is, if you are comfortable enough with doing it, or bring it to a shop to have it done. As for games requiring win 11 I doubt that will happen anytime soon, usually it's the version of DirectX that is required and that usually doesn't happen for a while, usually a game will support two or three versions of DirectX.

Actually had a visitor to my FC6 live stream the other day, and we teamed up for a couple special ops missions. If you're curious how that goes, here's a link to the VOD at the start of the first mission.

Thing is, playing with a random person with no voice comms, it was a little chaotic. Play styles are bit different too, I usually go the more stealthy route for the approach, but went more overt this time. Also, for a level 20 player, they didn't seem to know exactly where to go? Had to coach them a couple times and also carrying the cargo, I've found you run to the water source to cool it off, then run out as soon as that's done to the next source. Kill any soldiers in the way, but don't stick around for the fight if you can avoid it, just get back to the rendezvous for the final fight as fast as possible. They were also not using the parkour set of clothes for fastest running speed which I've found is best in this situation to get to the cooling areas faster, there are several times I just outrun them so you can tell that's how much faster the parkour set is.

I will have to use the sonar thing they had though, to mark nearby enemies, that was handy. It's available on the supremo, I'll have to set up one of the others to use that and switch back to the rockets if I need them.

Sounds like a bit of a chore to play with an unknown person and their game style.

I'm looking forward to watching your video - will do so in the morning!

Sadly, that won't w0#k. The Haswell socket is LGA-1150 and Intel had the habit of forcing consumers to purchase a new motherboard every year. You can keep your SSD, but SATA is kinda "dead" now. It's all about NVMe/M.2 PCI-E based storage now. Also, minimum requirements for Windows 11 compatibility are Ryzen 2000 or Intel Core ix-8000 (Coffee Lake)

Kind of cool seeing the live action.

The mission was a bit reminiscent of one I did a while ago in which I had to retrieve something that was thermally sensitive and deliver it somewhere. I had to run around finding water to cool it off before it self-destructed. It took more than one try to stumble across a cool water place.

As to your buddy, what is the purpose of skidding on his *bleep* every few seconds while running?

Ah yeah, it might make you go slightly faster, but without the parkour clothes, it doesn't do much. With the parkour clothes, doing a skid like that gives you a movement speed boost, you can see the indicator on my screen when I do it. The boost lasts 10-15 seconds or so, I never timed it, but you can see in that segment more than once I just run right past them and have to wait for them to catch up. I've even used it to run down a truck on the road being driven by an enemy soldier to be able to hijack it, so that's why I use the parkour clothes almost all the time.

Wow, that's definitely a huge benefit!  I saw you doing it once in a while, which I now understand, but your buddy looked kind of goofy doing it every few seconds  :D

Dweller_Benthos

Yeah once I got the parkour set of clothes, I never went back. Well a couple times when I had to go into an area of the poison gas, I put on the protective clothes for that but otherwise I keep the parkour set on. There is also the benefit that's kind of funny, if you see a soldier standing somewhere, you can run up, do a slide into him and knock him off his feet, then machete stab him all in one move.

I like that method!  I tend to use the machete quite a bit.

Maybe his *bleep* is itching and that's the only way to scratch it

4GB update yesterday reinstated the Danny Trejo mission, hopefully it's the entire thing this time and works all the way through. I knew it might be an extensive mission so I didn't start it last night as time was limited, probably won't get to it until the weekend when I know I'll have time.

??? Man, that's going to take a while for me to complete!

Aside, I really enjoyed Danny in the goofy Machete movies - my wife hates them  :gnehe:
