Butte Montana World Museum of Mining

I really enjoy traveling to Butte, a significant mining area. The Berkeley pit as well as the World Museum of Mining is located there.

Interesting place. Something I'd like to see especially if there's a way to get into the mine. We did a similar tour in North Carolina where they had several displays of the mining equipment set up, it makes you realize how back breaking and dangerous that job is.

There is an actual onsite mine called Orphan Girl, and they have former miners bringing visitors down into the mine and explaining how it all worked. I went on it a few years ago and it was quite a bit of fun.
