GTA5 trainer is much like the RDR2 trainer

That's because they were created by the same guy. It is really nice to click F4 and have instant access to all kinds of things you can do in the game.

I'm now outfitted with everything I need to get started, including a switch to make the cops less aggressive  :evil2:

Dweller_Benthos

I have a mod for that installed in Cyberpunk, to "bribe" the cops (costs you money) to get them off your back, because heaven forbid you're trying to complete a car "delivery" (theft) mission and take a corner just a bit too wide and accidentally tap a pedestrian with your bumper, suddenly you're criminal number one with the entire police force after you. A tap of the button, you pay your "contribution" to the police retirement fund and you're all clear. Such a great addition to the game.

It's been a really long time since I played GTA 5 that I don't really recall the single player missions too much, but I do remember the cops being just as aggressive in online mode and always being a pain.

Nice  Are you using any WeMod mods? I might need to look at Cyberpunk. I have not done so because it looked like GTA5, which I did not particularly like at the time. i do not know if this is something new in GTA5, but when you fail a mission, you can opt out of completing it. There are lots of settings to make, and the best part is you can change things on the fly by pressing F4 to bring up the trainer menu in game. Great way to experiment with lots of things.

It is also nice that you need not use cheatengine - it is script driven.

Not sure what WeMods are, everything for Cyberpunk I got off Nexusmods.com, which has tons of mods for pretty much any game. But it does have similarities to GTA, but I don't recall much that can stop your progress if you fail, as mostly it's either you live through it or die and start at the last save which you can take any time so there's no checkpoints or anything like that. There's only one that I can think of where it can be a bit frustrating as it's one of those cut scene / battle / wait for the prompt to advance situations and if you miss the prompt (like I did many times) the scene just ends with you dead and you start over. But that is just the one mission and it's in the DLC so not the norm for sure. The free roam in Cyberpunk is really the best in any recent game, where you can take on a mission if you want or ignore it. There are main story missions that you have to do in order to unlock the full map or open other missions, but none of them are fail and repeat, like I said, if you die, load the last save and try again. But I played several times through without mods to get the feel of the game as it was made, then installed mods to fix some of the things I thought were kind of dumb, and since the 2.1 update there's a few things they changed completely that I didn't like from the old game, that luckily mods take care of.

I definitely like that

I've been ignoring the main story mission in my most recent game for months now lol. I usually just do the ones required to open the rest of the map and activate all the other missions and leave it until there's nothing else to do.

I certainly like the option of skipping timed events, races, and other types I do not care for. I'm not good enough to complete many of them, and I really do not want that to impede my progress.

Dweller_Benthos

Cyberpunk has no timed events that are mandatory. There are minor side missions where you steal a car and have to deliver it to a certain place (usually on the other side of the map even though there's a drop off point close by) and those come with random requirements, deliver in a certain amount of time, keep the car as pristine as possible, or fight off attackers. Sometimes (mostly) a combo of two of them, which can get difficult. But, you don't have to follow any of those, the mission never fails that I've seen, you just get slightly less reward money if you fail one of the optional requirements, and the amount is usually trivial, as you always get the main reward no matter what, and the optional rewards or not nearly as much anyway.

You can save most anywhere, outside combat, so having multitudes of save points to go back to is easy, or even required if you want to see all outcomes of your actions. In some cases those won't manifest until you finish the game so that could mean a lot of replay just for that, or playing again with a different life path and making different decisions. Counting all three life paths, and all decisions, there's something like six endings? Something like that, and the new Phantom Liberty DLC adds some more endings to that as well, I've heard of four I think, so that means quite a few different ways to do things.

The only other timed event that I recall, if you can call it that, is in the new DLC and it was a bit frustrating for me as I was trying to fight the boss not knowing it was invulnerable until a certain point and there are a few quick-time like events you have to do that I missed the cues on until about the 5th try, but other than that, everything is open and how you complete it is up to you. Right now I'm pretty built up in all skills so I'm trying to max out the last couple which require blunt weapon kills, so I've got a nice baseball bat that I go after most people with to get points in that skill. I don't usually do melee combat like that but it is kinda fun to just beat the enemies to death even if their biggest crime was to be standing on the corner, lol.

:D  I like when you can do things like that in a game. I always laughed while flipping the bird in GTA5

I'm definitely considering Cyberpunk. The videos of game play are encouraging.

Dweller_Benthos

It's fun but takes a good amount of system resources to run nicely. Though you can turn down some graphics options and not notice much difference and get decent frame rates.

That is good to know. I just assumed my rig would be good enough, but I'd better make sure.

There's an "SS" setting for both graphics chips, DLSS for nvidia and whatever AMD calls theirs, turn it on for way better performance. Almost doubled my framerate from mid 30s to near 60 a lot of the time, over 70 in less complicated places and still decent mid 40s in really congested places.

I did a live stream of some general action in the game this morning if you want to take a look.

Some side quests, car races and theft missions, general messing around, that sort of thing. At this point in the game I'm completely OP with super weapons, gobs of health and cyberware that is deadly. So a new player starting out won't be able to do a lot of this kind of stuff lol. But it gives the idea of what the game is about.

Man, I just had enough time to take a few minutes to watch, but what I saw is intriguing. I'll definitely take a closer look soon.

Ultimate edition is one sale on GOG.com, 33% off

https://www.gog.com/en/game/cyberpunk_2077_ultimate_edition

but only until the 5th, at least I presume that's the date and not May 1st. The ultimate edition means it includes the Phantom Liberty DLC as well.
