reminds me of my very, very first start. I couldn't find a component needed for repairs to get my ship started. Kind of stranded forever.. I started over.

Dweller_Benthos

Yeah, that was just bad planning on my part and not keeping track of my resources, but that's how it goes.

As for the quest line, I had a little time to play last night, and found that after you hire a scientist, he gives you the quest to get the stuff to make the blueprint to make the thing that you need to make storage containers and to power the base. Or something like that. I need to explore caves now and find mould and something else, maybe the stuff you get from killing animals? But at least with the station teleporters, I could go to another system, hire the guy, then teleport back so I didn't have to get in the ship and fly there, using more hyperspace fuel stuff.

that actually sounds like a game.

Hired my scientist guy, went on a couple quests for him and was able to make the stuff I need to make storage containers. A whole 5 slots they have, great. But I imagine they can hold a lot of each item in those five slots.

Hired an armory guy and he sent me off to blow up a factory making weapons. That was nice, and then the next quest from him? Art must have jinxed me, as the guy says, "now that we have a good base of operations, we're going to be the target of pirates"

.....

dammit.

The actual mission is to go out and hunt pirates, but I haven't done it yet. I didn't have time to play last night, and I leave on a week's vacation tomorrow, so I might not be playing again until later in the month.

I just downloaded a 39 MB patch/update..

Fixed an issue that could cause cargo slots not to unlock after purchase
Players who had previously learned all alien words are now able to progress through the story
Players who've unlocked all general exosuit slots can now unlock tech and cargo slots as intended

We've fixed an issue that caused base NPCs to stop responding after claiming a new base location. This will prevent new occurrences of the issue, a fix for those who have already experienced it is under investigation
Fixed an issue preventing players from being able to finish farmer and exocraft missions
The base terminus teleporter will now display mission objectives, allowing you to select the correct system. It will also no longer 'forget' mission critical systems. This will prevent new occurrences of this issue and a fix for those who've already experienced it is under investigation
Creative mode players no longer need to complete mercenary missions as part of the story
Fixed a rare issue causing multiple ships in a freighter to spawn on top of each other
Custom waypoints will no longer override the Atlas Path in the Galactic Map
Standing will now be correctly awarded for guild missions
Players who recruited base NPCs prior to update 1.3 can now take missions from those NPCs as soon as they are at their terminals
Fixed an issue that allowed players to miss Atlas Stations, which prevented progress. This will prevent new occurrences of the issue, a fix for those who've already experienced it is under investigation
Fixed an issue that prevents some players from progressing when sent to an Atlas station as part of the story
Fixed an issue causing waypoint lines not to draw in the Galactic Map
    Fixed some rare crashes
The power of Analysis Visor upgrades has been significantly improved, resulting in much higher rewards when scanning with Flora or Fauna upgrades

That's quite a few fixes for only a 39 mb update  :gnehe:

Art Blade

indeed, and it fixes some of the stuff D_B had run into instantly O0

LowPolyOWG

Must be a small portion of the code being changed. Usually, developers replace an entire archive of files, rather than the changed ones. I downloaded a 20 GB update for Halo 5 Forge and that updated fixed some weapon related glitches...

OK, that's cool -- it means that those Hello devs are not lazy -- as they actually care to only send the actual fix.

or they just quickly copy-paste to prevent another disaster, leaving their skid marks of sore solutions to the next group of innocent survivors ;D
