Modding ATS is super easy

Modding is one of my favorite activities in any game and ATS makes it easy, much like the Fallout games. Steam has a workshop into which games list their mods. One simply "subscribes" to a mod which then automatically appears in the Mods section of the game "Lobby".

I'm currently using  a variety of game enhancers including:
  • Money and XP which increases the amounts of each when playing a delivery
  • Map mods which adds tons of new roads and even countries. I currently have The U.S. fully fleshed out, and have added Canada and Mexico.
  • Graphics are almost unlimited, from truck paint jobs, to trailer company logos and paint schemes. Others are available to put real life company and restaurant names of businesses
  • Realism mods that can drill down to even the level of the air brake, engine, tire, and other sounds so the rides make one feel like it is a real truck.

Steam workshop sure makes them easy, be nice if more games supported it.

I never knew the Steam workshops exists.  :main_knockout:

This is the first game I've had the opportunity to use it.

There are also many different mod sites that offer .scs mod files that one just drops in the mod folder within the ATS documents folder.

Yeah I've used it for Portal mods, mostly new levels, things like that, pretty handy.

In addition to American Truck Sim and Euro Truck Sim2, the only ones I have are Cities: Skylines and of all things, Mudrunner  :main_knockout:

What do they mod in Mudrunner? Make it less muddy? lol One streamer I watch who plays it calls it a sadness and frustration simulator haha

Mostly trucks and trailers, and some general mods like a snowy landscape

I can see the frustration, but like most driving games, there is always a path to success  :gnehe:

Yeah seems the paths in that game are rivers, lol

Just discovered that it is easy in ATS to create a new profile and have an entirely different set of mods. In the game menu is a selection called "Mods" in which you simply check the mods you want to load and in which order you want them. Now I should be able to upgrade to v1.51, see how the world works, and then I can easily downgrade back to v1.50 if needed.

Best part is that you can easily keep separate mods for each profile you create

Especially for me. It seems like the modding aspect is more interesting for me than actually playing the game long term. Just a weird way of thinking I guess  :main_knockout:
