I never experienced one of those, but it was enough to make you jump. Nothing like an electric shock to get the old nervous system going ...

It's probably not recommended for anyone with a heart condition... :undecided-new:

Then one person would slowly crank the handle getting faster and faster until the charge built up enough to go through everyone and we'd all jump around much like that. This was actually endorsed and encouraged by the teacher so we'd all learn the power and effects of electricity and maybe be a little more careful around it.
The results of this must have been electrifying...

Yes, just enough to make you jump back and shake your hands around like people do when they get shocked, like, why do we do that? lol

If you consider the normal senses that the body has evolved to for us to interpret the stimuli we encounter we never really developed a specific response to getting our asses getting shocked off.

For one thing there will be a jolt of adrenaline which demands we take a course of action.  A common response to a situation that is frightening seems to be very similar to that shock response.  The victim jumps back, flutters their hands, and possibly even runs around in circles until they (so to speak) shake it off.

Often an electric shock will kick in the standard senses as well.  Ear ringing, an acrid taste in the mouth, burning nose and ears to name a few.

 Skippable nostalgic ramblings
I humbly submit that my first kiss involved an electric fence while I was standing ankle deep in muddy water and she was dripping wet fresh out of the family's  swimming pool.  We (the two guys that were there with me on this late night walk about) were saying goodbye to the girls we'd been talking with as we setting off for the two mile walk home.

That was when the girl I had been speaking with reached through the wood slat fence, grabbed the back of my neck, simultaneously planting one on me and bringing my bare chest into contact with the hot wire. (there's no lightening bolt emoji  ;) )

I thought I heard angels singing.  We both uttered a single word.  Wow.  Then I hurried to catch up with the two guys who had already started hoofing their way across the pasture and back to our trail through the woods.

It wasn't until about ten minutes that I became aware of an annoying burning sensation on my chest much like the aftermath of a brush with stinging nettles.

Once I got into the light at home the fine burn line etched across my chest revealed the genuine electricity I'd experienced during that kiss.

Talk about setting a high standard for future expectations.  ::)

That's great, Mandru! Yeah, how is any kiss after that going to live up? Well, I suppose if it's with the "one person" then it probably would!
