I've got no idea why I never saw your post lol, sorry!

Yeah, they're suspicious and all they've got behind bars is.. nothing much, really.

Well, after some updates (game mode+, and while on it, you can buy a cloaking device but only on game mode+) they actually managed to deliver what they had promised some time ago:

"Buy yourself a house! Hideout now available after level 23."

Yay, cool :)

Dweller_Benthos

I haven't played it much lately, have to be in the right mood for that game, and right now I'm more in the noisy shoot-shoot mood so Far Cry is more my speed. I'll get back to Thief Sim once I get that out of my system.

:D fair enough :) I can't play that all day every day, either ;)

Art Blade

They just released another nice upgrade that adds a whole lot of stuff. They finished the story, added a new map and a the house for the player is now really cool. Funny: you can steal stuff and instead of selling it, use it to make your own home look cooler lol

The stuff they released in recent time would surely be sold as DLCs if it was a different game. Here it's just free. O0

Dweller_Benthos

Nice, maybe I'll pick it up again. I watched some live streams of someone playing and I was pretty much going about it wrong, lol.

hahaha, oh man, I wonder what I'm doing right or wrong in that game.. I think I don't even want to watch other people, then

Nice house, though the yard could use some landscaping!

I pretty much was playing too cautiously, only going after one thing at a time and wondering why I wasn't making progress, it's better to stack up as many jobs as you can and steal everything not nailed down. I played a little last night and got back into the feel of it, though as usual my patience wears thin and I end up making mistakes.

hehehe, I can relate, Dweller :) I recommend paying attention to a five-spoke STAR symbol next to items as those are sought after at "BlackBay," the game's darknet. Just one example to demonstrate: if you see a laptop mouse, weight 1Ld and a green star above the "1Ld," worth $600, you'd be silly to sell that item at the pawn shop because at BlackBay, someone pays $2,400 for two of those mice. In other words, only collect stuff that has high value at low weight to get the most of one raid. If you feel safe, you can unload some of your stolen goods in your car, there's a container in it, and go back for more loot. It's best to go for items you don't have to "carry" (drag all the way to your car) such as large paintings, statues and TV sets because obviously, that's more dangerous. I often visit one place several times until it's cleaned out properly

Those "job" you can take on are sometimes funny ("destroy the toilet in 102") but prone to police being alerted so best do those jobs while you're not robbing the place in case you get caught, you won't have to pick over the place again.. less w0#k like that. ;)

Dweller_Benthos

Yeah I wasn't using the box in the car to stash loot and getting caught with a bunch of stuff on me that resets you back to the last checkpoint, so now I'm using the box and making smaller runs each time. Also, they've increased what the car can carry, you can stack a painting on top of a TV now, where I'm pretty sure you couldn't before. The van has a lot of storage space like that but I don't have it yet. I'll make progress now and then but from the live stream I watched the difficulty increases dramatically in the other neighborhood and you mention the industrial zone is really hard. I may not have the patience for it.

I may have a solution for you..

Spoiler
open the "console" with ~ (on top of the screen there will be a long box to input cheat codes) and type in ghost to make your life easier. It needs to be retyped every time you reload a checkpoint or enter a street.

Dweller_Benthos

Yeah I may try that if I get too frustrated, heh

it's well worth it.. at least you can have some fun "exploring" the game and the stuff there. Because the game can really be frustrating, I used it a lot. ;)

Dweller_Benthos

Or just for "casing the joint" to get an idea where stuff is, the best way in, etc. I presume using the command again turns it off?

yes, or reloading a checkpoint or leaving the street and returning to it.

It will still trigger alarms if guards or tenants notice something's wrong, like a broken window. Police will arrive moments later but they won't see you, hence not find you, and bugger off again.

Careful, ghost only works on foot. If you've got the police after you and enter your car, they will catch you and that means reload last checkpoint. "Checkpoint" is a bit misleading, it is no different from starting over by entering the street again, except you don't have to drive there first.
