I must have done a little bit on a planet in my last save as when I opened it again I was at some base that was apparently hostile to me as all the guns starting shooting at me. It must have been something already set up as a demo of sorts as I know I never built anything like it and was never on a multiplayer game where it could be someone else's. I do recall some kind of animals too, though that was a while ago, not sure what they were. But there were AI enemies as well.

yeah, there are pirates, which I disabled also.

If you don't crash the game with it first!

If you want to try some co-op, let me know and we can get a game going. Hopefully it will be better than the No Man's Sky co-op.

We actually did it, a couple of hours without the game crashing on us and without any connectivity issues. O0 We had fun playing around, created different types of vehicles which mostly crashed, burned up or exploded, we dug a massive tunnel straight down into a planet using warheads.. :gnehe:

We also checked out the huge ship together, loaded a different save with my "Borg Cube" which made D_B go, "WOW," when he looked up inside the stairwell..

My biggest problem was being limited to 50,000 blocks when building stuff. Sounds like a lot but I ran into that limit while building my 400+ m ship and I was very disappointed.

But wow.. I just discovered that there is an option for unlimited amounts of blocks for building stuff ??? :) :) :) There is a slider for the block amount, set all the way to the right puts it to 50k but sliding it all the way to the left isn't "zero" but "unlimited." O0 At least when creating a new game. Well, time to create a new game, then :gnehe:

Alright, then, I created a new game, open to steam friends (meaning OWG steam friends..) and I started it completely unrelated to any "game scenarios" (usually involving prefab structures and enemy factions and mission objectives.. gah..) so it's completely our free choice what to do.

In order to go crazy, it's a creative rather than a survival game :gnehe: I set up a little planet-based.. err, base.. sounds stupid, let me rephrase that: I built a "first base" on a planet which will be the place to return to from whatever and where ever we want. I slapped both an antenna and a beacon on its roof so it will be "on our radar" at all times. I also created our own OWG faction so we will always be on the same team sharing whatever there is.

And now it's all set

I even built a car. Of sorts.

Here's a view of the base, located at the shores of a lake, and a wheel of the car. ;)
Monster Trucks? That's the kind of stuff I've got to wipe off the windscreen after a field trip. :gnehe:

That monster truck was no match for me!

Yep, flipped it. Of course, it's top heavy and Art did the same a little while later,  :laughsm:

Then we did some more .... normal sized cars, mine in the background, Art still working on his after "accidentally" dismantling his first couple.

Taking and publishing compromising pictures, are we? Being all charming while gaming together and then dropping the bombs? Well.. lemme see..

and yes, we had fun :)

Dweller_Benthos

Whew, that's not so bad, and here I thought you were going to post a screenshot of the "wolf & spider" incident!   :banghead:

now that you mention it.. :gnehe: nah, no reason (yet) to be nasty.

fragger

Oh no, not pirates again :banghead: Why does space always have to be plagued with pirates? Is that a rule or something in space games now? :gnehe: At least it sounds like you can turn them off in this one.

Sure you couldn't have made that truck a bit bigger, Art? Go on mate, don't hold back :gnehe:

Art Blade

hehe, it was just a set of wheels and something on top to store the "engine" (a nuclear reactor) so it wasn't a road-ready car at all. D_B found it fascinating enough and flipped it just a stone's throw away and called it "top-heavy" which it was, but it's almost like tasting cake dough when there's only just eggs and flour in the mix, far from ready, and calling it a horrible tasting cake dough. :gnehe:

The wheels are the biggest you can get so surely you can build something enormous on top and around those :gnehe:

As to pirates.. I hate that stuff just as much as you do so I rather play on creative and safe environment settings. I also disabled wolves, spiders and drones. ;)

Dweller_Benthos

Didn't stop me from becoming a wolf or spider, though, lol.

lol

that's still a buggy feature as it has been years ago so: DON'T become a wolf or a spider or you're going ape. :gnehe:

(you can change your appearance regarding colours, apparently space suits if you got more than one, and race as in human male and female, wolf or spider. If you select wolf or spider, you can't switch back to human as easily.. it required restarts)

Art Blade

the part of "accidentally" destroying cars while actually building them should be over now. :gnehe:
You've got three lifts that can be controlled either as a group or individually. The height can be changed so that you can just add wheels (they must not touch ground when attaching them, hence the many accidents when they came off, you couldn't slap them back on and had to restart from scratch) or lift the whole thing so far up that you can w0#k from underneath it while still standing upright.
