Yeah Binn, I saw you on this morning, afternoon for you, and figured you were grinding the rivals back up lol.

I've seen pictures posted on reddit of places that consistently spawn five harvesters and all of their followers in one small area. So figure the five harvesters, fifteen! hunters, and what, 20-30 runner dogs all in the same place? Seems that is not how it should be.

I don't know how the game looks to a brand new player, but I recall after one of the updates last year after I had quit for a while, I went back to the starter area to pick up some stuff and saw hunters roaming around. I wasn't a high level and didn't have good weapons, there should not be hunters that early in the game on any difficulty I don't think. There was one on the beach right down the coast from the place you initially spawn. It wouldn't be a stretch to think of a player first entering the game, getting a pistol, walking down that coast and encountering a hunter the first thing they see in the game. Even a low level hunter would be a tough fight with the starter pistol. That is the sort of thing they need to figure out, a decent progression in the starting area and then the first hunter you see is at the bridge to the main area of the game.

I know the place, where 5 harvesters spawn together sometimes. Had it too. They really fucked it up on this. The way it was when they launched the game, was totally balanced. All the bullshit they changed, based on the community feedback, has brought them farther from how it should have been. It is so silly.
You describe it right. The first time I saw a hunter, that was when I was just enough prepared to fight ONE hunter at the time. I met him when I had already found the first warboard, after clearing the naval base.
When I played the second time, with my friend who was new to the game, the first hunter had already appeared before crossing the bridge to that first little village. When you only have a pistol and if you're lucky a shotgun with a few rounds. He told me, described what he saw, and I couldn't believe it at first. Thought he was mistaken and meant to describe the military class runners. But he was right; hunters already. Stupid devs, really, lost track of their own plans.

Hmmmm .....  hints of new DLC? I haven't seen this artillery shell land, but I haven't been in that area of the game in a long time.

by the looks of it they could have added a 2nd line:

Operation Bullet Sponge.

oh interesting, is that a giant truck you can drive? Or something? Looks cool. As for sponging the bullets, I do hope they adjust the difficulty yet again, or at least make loot equivalent to the amount of time and ammo you have to put into killing something.

Is it possible to move this topic to 'now being played'? I think it deserves this spot, since both D_B and I are frequenting the game, and given the new DLC maybe even GKID will come along again ;)

I do think, btw, that they will address most of the bugs / problems the game suffers from atm. Let's hope they don't create too many new ones :P

I was thinking the same thing, Art to the rescue!

I went to the resistance base and sure enough as soon as I got close, I heard the boom of the cannon off in the distance and the following explosion practically right in front of me. A little while later, another shell landed up by the radar tower. I hadn't been to that area of the game since I first started playing, there's a lot of new stuff there, much more filled out in props and buildings and such.

The vehicle you see in the video is probably an escort mission of some type, as in it's on autopilot and you probably can't drive it. At most it's on rails and you can only effect the stop & go and maybe how fast it moves. But still looks pretty cool.

Thanx Art! D_B, where exactly do you mean, the resistance base? I haven't found the place where mortars, or cannon shells rock you. Curious though :anigrin:

Binn, if you click on the link I posted above, to reddit, there's a map that plots all the details of where the shells land and where they are possibly shot from. I think it's called Muskee or something like that, I forget right at the moment and can't find the specific mention. It's on the extreme western end of the Archipelago region.

Yes, I noticed that too. The timing is a bit strange though. The new update isn't out yet, so they are unreachable. And one of them says "defeat a rival" which I did multiple times yesterday. Nothing happened. So why add achievements that are still hard-locked? :huh-new:

We'll just have to be patient :anigrin:
