Anyone have recommendation for an external USB 3 SSD? I'm ripping my DVD collection and want to take a small SSD along to store my recorded movies - preferably powered by the USB port

Thanks guys - very useful links. I think I'll go with a 500gb version, which looks like the most cost effective solution at this time.  Now, just to decide which brand to get.

Well gents, I was looking on Newegg which is my usual "go-to" place for parts and a 500 mb SSD was about $200 on average.  The other day I went to Costco and purchased a 2tb Sandisk USB 3.0 backup SSD for $69. Small and thin, powered by the USB port it seemed to be just what I needed. Copied movies to it, attached it to my Surface Pro, and it worked perfectly.
