Here are the youtube links if the above are not viewable:

Looks like the videos doesn't get embedded like the image files here. Maybe pzrzao can do something about it soon.

For the first links it says "Windows media player cannot recognize file extension...." or something like that.
I must be missing a plug in (the extension is right there  :P)

the .mov extension is quicktime - free download from Apple, or if you don't want to install QT, there is an alternative - have not tried it though.  I'll get it and find out if it is any good.

EDIT: Just installed the QT alternative, and it seems to w@&k, but you might check out reliability of the hotlinkfiles site spearhead_22.  I'm using WOT (Web of Trust) plugin in Firefox 3 and it reports the site as being untrustworthy.

Dweller_Benthos

The youtube ones play quicker, but the others are better quality.

Too bad the forum doesn't support html code, or you could embed the youtube video right in the post:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nwVlBRte4Gw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nwVlBRte4Gw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

pzrzao, thanks for the heads up about the hotlinksfile site. Actually, I used it for the first time today, just to experiment. Guess youtube is more reliable.

But this site needs to have some way to embed the videos just like in Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, etc. coz the above methods (codes) didn't w@&k out.

jrderntl, the file, like pzrzao said, is a quicktime .mov file. You can view it if you have quicktime or if you have the k-lite codec pack installed. The Media Player Classic which comes with the codec pack can play .mov files as well.

D_B, I too tried the html codes. Doesn't w@&k  :(

We'll figure something out - just need a little time to get it worked out.  As to code, like you see on ImageShack, the code that is used in forums is different that the typical html.  We might take a look at the forum code syntax and see if it is easy enough to modify to suit our needs.

Great videos.  I'd love a way to be able to download some of your videos like this.  It's great to have a few little videos to check out when at w@&k to keep me smiling.  And hard drive access is better than going out to youtube...if possible.

Thanks, spaceboy.  :)
Well, you can download the videos off youtube itself. There's a site called www.keepvid.com
You just need to copy the video url link, like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwVlBRte4Gw (for example), paste it in the keepvid.com site's text box and click on the Download button. You'll have the option of downloading the videos in either low quality (.flv file) or high quality (.mp4 file). To view .flv files, you'll need an FLV player while VLC Player or WMP Classic can play the .mp4 file. Both players can be downloaded for free from the Internet.

If you want the original files (.mov), I can upload them in Megaupload or Rapidshare for you.

That's awesome info spearhead, I hadn't heard of keepvid.com.  Is that a free service?  So many times I've wanted to save a video from Youtube - all gaming vids of course, ;)  anyways, thanks so much for the info.  I'm going to have to try that out this weekend.

Very cool spearhead_22!

By the way, if you're using Firefox, a plugin is available to download You-Tube (and other fideo types) directly from within your browser.

spearhead_22

Yes, spaceboy, keepvid's free. It's just a website, not any toolbar or application, so you don't even have to download or install it. ;)

Thanks for the info,
pzrzao. Yes, I do use Firefox. In fact, I use almost all the browsers for Windows....Firefox, IE6, Google Chrome and Opera.  :)  I knew about the Firefox plugin, but haven't tried it out.

There's another way to download youtube videos. For that, you'll need to have Real Player v.11 or more installed in your PC. IF you open a youtube video in IE (Internet Explorer), a download button would appear on the top of the video and if you click on it, Real Player would download the video for you.

I use keepvid.com coz I get the flexibility to download either the low quality or the high quality video and since it's just a website, I don't require to install anything. Moreover, it's browser independent.

Holy cr*p, I'm so stoked, I just successfully recorded some gameplay from my PS3, the video is currently uploading to youtube.  I will post a "Video Journal" entry in the missions forum.

Here's how I did it.  I have the software "Honestech VHS to DVD" which comes with a little white box "vid box" that translates analog signals to digital and then send it USB to your PC.  We are using it to transfer all our old family movies (8MM) to DVD.

1) I used the multi A/V cable that came with the PS3 and plugged it into the "vid box".

2) Used my highly handy 10 ft USB cord to plug into PC.

3) Opened up the software

4) Changed PS3 video and audio from HDMI and Optical to Multi/AV

5) Using my bluetooth Dualshock 3 controller, I can play in front of the PC (resolution not up to par of course) and record at the same time.

6) woohoo, drink beer, smile, logon to FC2 maps!

Now I've got to figure out how to get the link to my video it says Uploaded, processing.  I'm not sure how long that takes to "process"...

Very clever spaceboy!

Sounds like you have quite the setup!

spearhead_22

Great find, spaceboy! I am sure, with the info you have provided here, the members playing through a console can finally record videos of the game. Thanks to you. ;)
