Impressive freediving

This was shot in Dean´s Blue Hole off Long Island, Bahamas. The diver is world champion Guillaume Néry and it was shot on one breath by another free diving champion called Julie Gautier.

From the deepest diving to the highest - in 1960, Captain Joe Kittinger set the yet-unbroken record for the highest ever freefall parachute jump.

He didn't have to hold his breath though! ;D

I've seen this jump before on the 10 biggest and best jumps ever

Even though what Kittinger did is truly unbelievable (he's the nº1 on the vid), what nº2 did is my favourite! 8)

This chap is going to break Kittinger's record late this year and the idea is to be the first man os a freedive leap TO BREAK THE BARRIER OF SOUND! ???

that sounds fun. Maybe all spectators are given sponges so they can wipe the jumper's remains from their windshields in case of a success. ;D

Just like Art said... I want to see that, if he`s not shredded into a bazillion pieces when breaking sound speed!

I once saw a footage of a USAF fighter breaking the sound speed and blowing up in a ball of fire a split second after the pilot bail! Freaking impressive!

But this guy had his wife on board the Columbia space shuttle in 2003. The idea behind his fancy jump is to develop a suit and a technique to give astronauts a chance of surviving a rough re-entry! ???

A scene of the new Star Trek movie springs to mind right now 8)
