How real you want it to be?
That's the question we've been asked by Codemaster's developer team.
Well, taking from what "OFP - cold war crisis" was back in 2001 (check vids in the boards), I'd say I want it to be as real as it can be.
The terrain of Skira island has been imported from satellite derived data to have a real landscape to manouver your army. Guns, vehicles and all sorts of objects are rich in details. Damage models are persistent so if you assault a village with all you got, it will remain like that till the game is over.
Dynamic weather makes for a real challenge as you plan your attack and artificial intelligence should present the latest technology in making non player characters take effective actions to execute your orders while preserving their own integrity.

"Take that hill at all costs" is what you hear on your radio.
You then are prompted to issue your platoon into assaulting an airfield while enemy armoured vehicles flank you.
Take a dead body's RPG and help your men.
Move towards southwest leading Alfa Squad while Bravo Squad moves northeast.
Destroy enemy AA and coordinate an assault to the airfield after calling Cobra Helicopters to support it from above.

If you had a thrilling battle like that back in 1985, the year the story of the former OFP took place, imagine what you can do with today's latest warfare technology?

System requirements are still unknown, despite what many forums claim to know from "a reliable source".
So far, all we can do is wait for the war to begin at any moment...
