I'm curious about something that happened after the first act.

OK, so I killed the guy at the falls, went to the Church to defend it, eventually I wake up after the sandstorm.

I perform the assassination and go to meet Voorhees.

On the way there, it was weird, I kept blacking out and the game reloaded the last save point, it was like I had sprinted and got dizzy for a few seconds.

Its possible that I was travelling cross-country to the rendevous instead of following the road on some of the occasions, but even when I got within a short distance of the rendevous, I still got kicked back to a different area, after about 5 times, I got through though.

Just wondered if anyone had any insight into this occurence.

you were just heading too far off the edge of the map.  The sand dunes around the edges will do that to you.  Stick a little closer to that road and you'll be fine.  The same thing happens around the whole outer edge of the maps or when trying to drive South before actually completing Act I.

I think the only place that the map will change over is right on the road, there's a blockade type area in a narrow gulley the road runs through, maybe with a sign post and an animal skull hanging on it, I forget exactly. But I think if you're off the road even a bit, like up on the top of the gully, the map won't change and you'll be bounced back to your last save if you don't turn around when the blurry vision kicks in. A general rule is, if your vision gets blurry and you don't get the medicine icon to signify that it's a malaria attack, turn around and head back the other way to get back on the main part of the map.

Are we talking the desert area between the north and south?
Because its not really a free roam area, the allowed area is close to the
road and railways. It's like walking off the map if you wander too far.

Yes I knid of figured that, but I was so near the road and the destination, it was weird.

Thanks :)

That reminds me. When I was in a similar situation during a multiplayer game (not FC2) someone told me, "well, whatever it is you do, keep doing it."  ;D
